I've reviewed 7 nappies and pull ups - The winner will surprise you!

When I first had Alina, I was overwhelmed by the different brands and price points of nappies! From $8 a pack to $30 for the same volume I often wondered what the difference was. They all did the same thing, right?!

I have honestly tried every brand of nappies you’ll find in stores! This blog post is my honest review on 7 different nappy and pull up brands to help you navigate the big, wide, confusing world that is being a first time mum. Or to simply help you find a better brand to try than the one you’re using.

My review is based on the below criteria which is important to me when it comes to how a nappy performs, especially overnight;

  • Absorption

  • Softness

  • Thickness

  • Comfort

  • Quality

HUGGIES

I have used Huggies nappies and now pull ups on and off since Alina was born and again tried their newborn nappies on Neiko. They get my tick of approval for softness, thickness, comfort and quality. However, each time I’ve experiencing leaking through the sides or out of the top (yes, I am putting the nappy on correctly). Mostly from nappies overnight but also a couple of times a week during use during the day too.

THANK YOU

The thank you brand came out the year I had Alina and I had seen a lot of hype about them on social media. I love the THANK YOU brand and what their business values are however the nappies are a thumbs down from me. I found them to be quite thin, and not at all absorbent which caused Alina to get nappy rash. I also think due to being so thin they were quite uncomfortable so I didn’t continue use or finish the box.

ECO BY NATY

Another brand that I love the ethics and business values however I didn’t have that great an experience with their nappies for similar reasons to THANK YOU nappies. Their pull ups on the other hand, excellent! Especially overnight, great absorbency, thickness and comfort. I think perhaps no leaking like the nappies because the pull ups are a better fit where you can’t get the nappy to fit like that (I hope this makes sense).

KMART

I didn’t even know KMART stocked nappies or wipes until I went to get a few things when Alina was 6 months old. I grabbed a box of nappies and they did the trick with absorbency however they’re quite thin also and a cardboardy (I just made up the word haha) texture so comfort got a thumbs down from me. Still, they weren’t terrible.

ALDI HOME BRAND MAMIA

THESE WERE EXCELLENT! A great experience using Mamia. They tick all of my boxes and I’d be an avid user however we don’t have an ALDI close enough so I just can’t justify to travel just for nappies, as I don’t shop at Aldi.

WOOLWORTHS LITTLE ONES

Again, another great home brand nappy! They’re absorbent, thick, soft and comfortable however like the huggies I did experience leakage overnight with every night nappy so I didn’t continue use. Their pull ups however, awesome!

COLES CUB

These are my nappies and wipes of choice! WINNER, DING DING DING! These are the nappies I have used on Neiko for months now and they’re the pull ups I use on Alina during the night! They meet all of my criteria and I’ve not had one leaky nappy in the entire time I’ve used them. The price point, excellent too! A pack of 60 for $!0, YES!
